The year 2010 gay rights

Another year is about to come and go and because of my backward government I still can’t get my partner (married in Canada) into the United States. What a crime, it’s too bad that the civil right crimes against gay people will never be brought to a court in this country. The crimes are Defensive marriage act, the Uniting American family’s act, and all civil rights that belong to the gay population rights that shouldn’t have to be fought for but given freely being an American citizen. It’s either like being back in the 1950’s or early 60’s or maybe more like the old Soviet Union. The only thing is we can talk out about our government but they don’t care and don’t listen to her people only the church and the hating right wing.
We have to thank people in our government like Nancy Pelosi, Luis Gutierrez, and congressman and senators like Peter king. Peter King who believes totally in the Bush doctrine, who could care less that people are really hurting, but why should he care, right. You call Peter kings office and ask about DOMA and UAFA and they can’t answer you and they don’t return your faxes or phone calls, nothing! Nancy Pelosi who knows that the UAFA is sitting in committee but will not bring it out, knowing that it could take away so much pain and suffering for so many people. I heard that she feels that there isn’t enough support with enough senators for the bill, but without trying how does she really know, right? Luis Gutierrez who knows about the UAFA but left us out of his bill, we all know why he didn’t want to hear from the extreme right wing. People say that he stands for gay rights but when you leave an important gay issue out of a major peace of law how much could he stand for gay rights and ending so much suffering. He’s basically willing to give citizenship to illegal’s in this country but nothing for gay peoples fight to bring their loved ones into this country.
This is what we have to battle in the year 2010, it’s going to be a long hard battler and it’s all up hill. Find a grass roots group to join like out4immirgation on yahoo, or join the impact, give your money to the little groups who really need your support, before you give money to the HRC and Immigration Equ. Ask what have they really done last year and what are they promising to do in the year 2010? Think long and hard and give to the grass roots groups before the larger ones because the grass roots groups are people like you and me suffering throw this, but the larger ones are mainly looking out for their pay checks. A point in case the HRC and Immigration EQU. Is closed for the holidays how do you close down for over a week if you are really fighting for civil rights?
I don’t care if a senator or congressman support one bill and not another one, you are either with us totally or you are against us, remember that we can’t afford to cut anyone any slack in this battle for our rights as Americans!
Things for you to do is write everyone you can think of, call everyone you can think of. No matter how crazy it might seem to you write them. Call or write your local news paper and TV station go visit your congressman and senator. This war must be won and won soon it’s up to us!
5 years ago I made a promise to at that time my love now my husband that I would get him back into this country I have never lied to him or miss lead him. This is the year that we can win if we dig our heals in and fight like this is it. 9th inning 2 strikes batter is up. We can do it!

A foot note here
that the Executive Director of Immigration Equ. says there where open all week long, but when I called I was told everyone was out till after the holidays

Roy –
I just got your phone message, which ended up in the wrong mailbox. I hope you’ll correct the misinformation on your blog, as Immigration Equality has been open all week. I’m sorry I can’t talk today, but our communications director, Steve Ralls, could talk with you next week.
All the best,
Rachel
