50,000 of you took our survey on how the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) harms families. And with Congress back in session this week, we personally delivered your responses – and thousands of heartfelt comments – to help build the case for repealing this discriminatory law.
It was more than a stack of paper – it was a physical symbol of the outrage of this law denying federal recognition to married same-sex couples.
But we can’t stop now. A bill to repeal DOMA could be introduced as early as next week by longtime LGBT champion of equality Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY). We’ve delivered our stories, and now it’s time to deliver a clear demand.
