The first step to ending the HIV travel ban in the United States has been taken by the Obama administration. The Office of Management and Budget posted a notice on its site Friday afternoon indicating that the department of Health and Human Services could move forward with steps to change a regulation that has restricted HIV-positive people from gaining entrance into the United States.

It’s really sad when all the right wing bible thumping people can do is say the bible the bible, what’s worst about this group is they twist the constitution and bill of rights to favor themselves.

#2 Id like to know why your Institute hates gay people so much that they are willing to take away there happiness to get married and the equal rights in the Untied States? Do you remember the Declaration of independence “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal?”

If you use the bible as your backbone to answer that question remember the church has no business making US policy because it doesn’t pay taxes and the separation of church and state. Also you have no rights pushing your views on a group of people.

This doesn’t hold true, and wish that you told the truth on your website and not lead your readers to none truths. In the countries that let same sex marriages it hasn’t done anything to marriage. All it’s done is give all couples the change to be happy and be with whom they want to be.

So please stop spreading lies.

You are 100% right with that statement, but it doesn’t give anyone the right to push there ideas on anyone else or make US policy.

Why doesn’t your group believe in the constitution of the United States and the bill of rights?

Once again I tried to get an answer from Congressman Peter King’s office on how he stands on the Uniting families act. Once again I got we have no idea. Once again I left my name and phone number and wrote his office an e-mail throw his web site. I’m sure I’m not going to get an answer from him.
On Long Island every one knows that he has his own agenda, but no one knows what that is. This is a man that says he wants to run to be a senator.

I would like to know if you support the Uniting Families act or not. If you don’t I would like a reason why. Just to let you know that I’m legal married in Canada to my partner and would like to be able to sponsor him into this country.

I had just got off the phone with state senator Owen H. Johnson to try and find out how he is going to vote on the gay marriage bill that’s coming up for a vote as I understand it next week. His office in Albany and on Long island couldn’t answer the question. I did ask for a reply.

I had wrote and called Immigration Equality and did the same thing with the HRC about a Newsday reporter that wants to do a story about the Uniting families act. The sorry part is that no one has gotten back to me or the reporter from both groups? Here is there change to really get the word out and no answer at all from both of them?
We have to ask them why no interest in a reporter wanting to do a story about new Yorkers that are in a bi-national relationship?

So we have to write, Rachel B. Tiven is the Executive Director, Steve Ralls is Director of Communications. We have to ask why the information isn’t posted on there web site and there blog? Why have they not gotten back to the reporter? Here is you change to really get the word out.

If you watched the hearing on Uniting families act and you watched the Lou Dobbs interview you will see that the right wing, Republican Party, the bible thumpers, have nothing they can say bad about it! They know day by day that they are losing the grip on this country and that the gay card they are playing is a losing hand now. As far as the Bishops and church groups go, they shouldn’t have a say so in policy making in the US! When they start paying tax’s then they can say something. It’s time that the US government woke up and fully separated state form church.

All they can say is Fraud, fraud,fraud. Well I have a question for them. If there was so much fraud going on why didn’t they say and do something about it before? I can tell you, it’s because it was never a gay issue! They also say that the American embassies wouldn’t be able to handle the volume to investigates of all the applications. Well at $200.00 US an interview and you only get 4 to 5 minutes they can afford to hire more people. I’m sure even if they raised the fee to $500.00 for a partnership visa all would be willing to pay it. Then they would have the money to check public records of marriage licenses, and think of it, how much does a phone call cost, or going online?
So it’s just hot air to try and do the republican thing which is to try and scare the American people into something they want.

So go online and start writing people and never give up we are very close to winning this time around!

I saw you boss today on a re-broadcast of the hearing, I will say that I do have to watch it again because I’m rushing out the door door to get a flight to see my married partner in Canada we are buying a car up there for him to us.
As I watched her I did remember on some blog that we got into a heat war on words and after about two or three threads she banned my from posting.
The braodcast:
#1 She can talk a good game
#2 She has no idea what she is talking about
#3 most bi-national couples have good strong docs that can proof they are in a loving relationship
#4 hardships for the embassies, come on, at $200.00 a visa and you only get 4 to 5 minutes with an interviewer. They can afford to hire more staff, and should in general.
#5 she never said what kind of fraud and if that’s the case they should stop all issuing of all marriage green cards.
#6” create a new category” its just going to change some words around not add a new category

I’ve had some difficulty reaching Jessica Vaughan because she’s been traveling to D.C. for the hearing. I was able to locate her testimony, however, so hopefully it will answer your questions. The Center’s main concern is that this legislation will increase opportunity for fraud but does not provide additional tools for the immigration agencies to counter any fraud that may arise. It’s an issue of accurate adjudication that is our central focus. As Jessica Vaughan explains:

“Despite the fact that this proposal would produce an increase in benefits applications, and the fact that these benefits applications as a group would be especially vulnerable to fraud, the bill provides no new tools or resources for the State Department, USCIS, or state and local governments to preserve the integrity of the process and to fight fraud. The bill simply states that the existing anti-fraud measures and punishments, which are already inadequate, will apply to this category as well. Any proposal to create a new category such as this should also try to improve our benefits adjudication process so as to minimize the new cases of fraud.”
