I aked to go in front of the hearing

Steve
I do and don’t support immigration Equality! Last year I had called in to find out some information and was told even if you had the right number in congress to bring the Uniting families act up for a vote you wouldn’t ask any congressman to. That you had a 5 and 10 year plan, when did that get changed?
Since Immigration Equ. Keeps on asking for money and getting money from us, you should supply bus’s from key cities and have us all show up, and if we can’t get in walk around the building holding signs! Id like to get up in front of them and open up my big new york jewish mouth to them because not like so many people that are fighting, I’m not afraid of my government and prove it by owning and running http://www.usimmigrationwoes.com/
Two years ago I was going to meet with Rachel and she kept on putting it off, I wonder why? I reach a lot of people with my blog and the people signing up is growing every day because they see groups like yours and the HRC doing nothing at all. I got we are working behind the scenes; well tell people what you are doing. It’s funny that a hand full of people on a yahoo group started to write e-mails each week to a different congressman, why didn’t you group start it, you reach more people. The group is out4immigration@yahoogroups.com
It’s time that Immigration Equ. Starts getting protests together so we can show the world what the US government isn’t doing, It’s time that we hold the presidents feet to the fire and make him show the people that got him elected we mean business. Why haven’t your group opened up your mouth about the HIV ban not lifted yet? What are you guys doing? Is it true that you are building a new office in DC so you are going to have office in NYC and DC?
This e-mail back to you will be posted on my blog as well as join the impact and also the yahoo group I belong to. I will share what ever answer that you give me.

Thank you
Roy

Roy,

Thanks so much for your email, and for your support of Immigration Equality!

The hearing will be held on June 3rd, at 10am, in room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Hearings are open to the public, but it’s also important to know that hearing rooms are typically quite small, and attendees are seated on a first-come-first-served basis. So, there is, unfortunately, no guarantee that anyone who makes it to the Dirksen will actually be seated. For many hearings, attendees line-up as early as 7am or 8am, for a 10am slot . . . and even then, admittance is not absolutely guaranteed.

The hearing will be broadcast live on C-SPAN, and will be available as a live video stream on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s website as well. That may be an easier option for actually watching the proceedings take place than visiting the Senate, where there is likely to be a long line of people trying to get entry to a very limited number of seats.

I hope that information is helpful. If you have any questions, or need any other information, just let me know.

Thanks again for reaching out,

Steve

Marriage equality for the State of New York is not certain. We only have until June 20th to make our voices heard and we must take action right now to see results. Today, you can call your State Senator and urge them to vote YES on the marriage equality bill.

Today I felt that I should go around to me elected offices and show them my marriage lic. Two weeks ago I went into Peter kings office and asked how he stood on the uniting families act but they couldn’t answer me. So today I went in with my marriage Lic. And asked again and got no answer but the normal reply from them which was nothing, and a sour face. Then I asked if they could do a special visa just like the lesbian couple and I got the look of death from them. I was told that I had to put it in writing, that’s so funny because they always seem to lose my letters to them and e-mails.

Next it was off to Senator Kirsten Gillibrands office, its nice being able to talk to some one that’s willing to listen! I did ask how she stood on the uniting families act but they couldn’t answer me. They said that they would get back to me as soon as they know. I was dealing with a little sub office here on Long Island but the people where friendly!

Off to Steven Israel’s office, we all know that he is a co-sponsor to the bill. I told the guy at the door that I just wanted them to see a face that goes along with the bill and asked if his office could get a special visa, the one like the lesbians got only this time word it till the uniting families act is passed. I’m not in his area, but they had me talk with a case worker! Holy sh- t! They are people of action! I have to ask my partner if he wants them to try for a new student visa, or one that I’m trying for, you might remember that the Vi. Council of the American embassy tagged him a 214b.

All in all it was a good morning and later on I’m going to write the letters that the Senator and Israel’s office asked for
