what we must do now!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Hi everyone.
I know the holidays can be really hard on everyone, I know first hand how hard it is. With my lover not being able to get into the United States I have to drive 1300 miles round trip to see him and will be with him next week. I’m still really pissed off at the HRC and Immigration Equ. Did not force bringing a senator or, congressman to the floor for a vote. We had around 229 sponsors and now we have zero!

Everyone in a BI-National relationship has to support the new group called Join the Impact! They are going to do more good for us then the HRC or Immigration Equality will do. For the last year or two I have been calling to take gay marriage and the Uniting families act to the streets but Immigration Equ. And HRC said NO NO, NO it will do more harm then good. We are working behind the scenes to get gay marriage. I always had a good laugh over that because any change in this country has been done throw the streets, just look at stone wall. We all know why Immigration Equ. Has a ten year plan because lets face it, it’s there jobs on the line.

We also need to write e-mail and fax every single Senator and Congressman, we need to fill up there e-mail box’s and fax machines till they give up and bend to our will. Along with that we also need to ask for help from the un, the Prime Minister of Canada, Spanish Government, Prime minister of Nepal asking for help and telling them how back ward the us is and we need help from other countries that has gay marriage.

When the new president takes over we need to fill up the white house’s e-mail box and there fax machines every single day. Every gay person who is a US citizen has to write every day!! Not only do we have to show the government that this time around we aren’t going to be quiet and that the crap that we have gotten over the years, but this next year is when we get gay marriage at the federal level and we get the uniting families act passed once and for all! Remember HRC and Immigration Equ. Isn’t going to fight as hard as the every day gay person has to. I’m calling for in Nov. A none stop e-mail writing campaign.

Day Without a Gay

Thanks to Join the Impact

On December 10th, we are supporting Day Without a Gay.
We are calling for a nationwide strike and economic boycott by all members of our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community AND OUR STRAIGHT ALLIES on December 10th, 2008, International Human Rights Day.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

STRIKE: call in gay, shut down your business, or just take the day off.

BOYCOTT: don’t buy anything, spend money or support the economy.

PARTICIPATE: Volunteer and/or organize a protest in your area

TEN TIPS ABOUT WHAT TO DO ON DECEMBER 11:
Wake up for work on Wednesday December 10th… and call in GAY.
Go to the bank and take $80 out of your account… put it in your pocket and KEEP IT THERE.
Do not go get your morning latte
Do not purchase anything
Do not contribute to advertising revenue: Meaning, spend 24 hours of your life without TV & Internet
Do not use your cell phone, even if you have unlimited minutes
Instead, DO volunteer. Give to the community and reach out to those that don’t understand our community. Check your state page for local volunteer opportunities.
If you must spend, only do so at an LGBTQ owned establishment with an LGBTQ clientel
You have weeks to prepare, so go grocery shopping now.
VOLUNTEER. We are fighting for human rights, so let’s take a day to fight for the rights of those in need. Check your state page for local volunteer opportunities.

Prop 8 Protest: A Call to the LGBTQ Community, Friends, & Family

I’m sure all would agree that with the election of Barack Obama, this week
has been one of amazing wins in the world of equality! Still,
Tuesday night was one of bitter-sweet celebration, as we came together
to witness the first black man who will become our president, and
watched in sadness as Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and California all
voted down equal rights for all citizens. Pendants and bloggers
alike have put their focus on Proposition 8, trying hard to find an
explanation for the anti-gay wins in the face of a huge pro-equality
event. Some have blamed the voters, others blame religious
groups, and even others blame the LGBTQ community for not being able to
mobilize on a larger enough scale. And you know what, there is
truth in every argument

Stop the Mormons!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Sign this petition to support the legal effort to amend our tax laws such that the Mormon Church, and other transgressing churches, would lose tax-exempt status if they continue lobbying for state propositions. We intend to share this list with the ACLU, Lambda Legal, and other official legal organizations that will be pressing forward with this effort. Anyone can sign this petition.
